Service to seniors is a growing part of the work of
libraries, and it has some unique challenges. Allan
Kleiman from the Westfield (NJ) Memorial Library
recently received ALA’s Margaret E. Monroe Library
Adult Services award for his leadership in ALA
programs focused on service to seniors and his
advocacy for older adults. In this session sponsored
by the HQ76.3 Section, he shares his expertise and
identifies some of the special needs of the older gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender population. The
