Counterparts 2007, a biennial NELA tradition, was held at Assumption College in Worcester, MA on Friday, July 20, 2007. Counterparts has traditionally been informative and inspiring, and this year was no different. This one-day conference focused on Back to Basics, meeting your counterparts from other state organizations and learning from each other. Dee Kelsey, Great Meetings, Inc., led us in a discussion about planning informative, concise meetings, generating great ideas and getting positive results from a meeting. Counterparts attendees were able to look forward to their next meeting, utilizing the skills from attending this workshop. Later in the day, colleagues joined in discussing common issues in State organizations and steps to bring New England libraries together through ongoing communication.
