The Connecticut Library Association's <http://www.ctlibraryassociation.org/> 117th Annual Conference will take place from Monday, April 28 through Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa in Groton, CT.  Program, vendor, and registration <http://www.ctlibraryassociation.org/conf.htm> information are available online.

Do you know a librarian who deserves to be recognized for his/her achievements? The Greenaway Award <http://www.nelib.org/greenaway/index.htm> committee is accepting nominations until May 30 of individuals who have had a demonstrated impact on the library field in the New England region.

This year's NELA Annual Conference <http://nelib.org/conference/2008/index.htm>, "Taking Charge of Change", will be held at the Radisson Hotel, Manchester, NH from October 19 - 21, 2008.

Tara L. Hurt and Karen Carlson Young, Co-Chairs of NELA's Academic Section, report that the section is offering four sessions of particular interest to academic librarians:

  • My College Freshman is Your High School Senior
  • The Role of Planning in Grant Preparation for Enhanced Library Services,
    Before and After
  • Steampunk Cataloging:  Retro-futurism in Taxonomy & Metadata Management

The sessions take place on Monday (October 20) and Tuesday (October 21) and we have speakers from all over New England ready to present and answer your questions.
