Dear NELA Members,

People with leadership skills can be found in every library position, and the NELA Leadership/NELLS Committee invites you to share your knowledge, experience, and vision.

We are looking for a few enthusiastic NELA members to join us as we shape the next iteration of NELLS and reimagine the professional development opportunities NELA can offer to both new and experienced library workers.

Joining the committee is an opportunity to help guide the future of one of NELA’s signature leadership programs. Our initial goals are to:

1. Constitute a committee of 8–10 members.
2. Create committee goals and a framework for implementation.
3. Survey the membership to better understand professional development needs.
4. Arrange webinars to offer interim professional development opportunities in the near term.
5. Review NELLS branding and messaging.
6. Create and implement a venue selection rubric.
7. Develop a viable plan to bring NELLS back in 2028.
