NERTCL is looking for presentations for our June Professional Development event! This year we are looking for presentations about using social media as an outreach tool and how libraries and librarians are using social media tools to help reach their patrons. We are also accepting applications on any fun, interesting, or unique outreach program that has worked for your library that you are willing to share. The event will be held virtually on June 30th and you will be notified of your presentation time after applications close May 26th 2023. Please send any questions you may have to the NERTCL Chair, Kylie Woodmansee, [email protected].
As a NELA member, did you know that you can be mentored? You can also be a mentor! The NELA Mentor/Mentee Program is designed to provide mentoring opportunities to librarians and paraprofessionals of diverse needs from various library fields and geographic locations. We make every effort to match participants with mentors who share stated interests.
We’re holding a Q&A Session about the Mentor/Mentee Program on Thursday, May 11th, 1:00pm - 2:00pm EST. This session will be led by the Membership Committee. This is a FREE Q&A opportunity for NELA members who are interested in either being a mentee or becoming a mentor to learn more about the program. The Q&A will feature Mentor RI Consultant, Chris Margadonna, who will lead mentor/mentee training workshops for program participants in September. You’ll have the opportunity to ask Chris questions about mentoring and the training workshops.
NELA is pleased to announce the following individuals who have been accepted into the New England Library Leadership Symposium for 2023. These individuals submitted applications that demonstrated a sincere interest in developing their leadership skills, and the potential to make a significant impact in the profession.

Over 50 applications came in for this year's NELLS Emerging Leaders cohort. NELA would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply for the program, as well as those who wrote recommendations for applicants. We would also like to thank those who took the time to anonymize, review, and select applications. This was a difficult but critical process to ensure a fair selection process.
Ultimately, 26 applicants were chosen for this year's cohort. The NELA Executive Board would like to congratulate the following members of the 2022 NELLS Emerging Leaders Cohort:
